On March, Artistic and Cultural Activities for children and young people started, inaugurating an educational modality that – divided into instrumental, musical language and ensemble - provide an integral education for the development of individual and collective creativity.

Guitar classes are organized at two levels for children as well as for young people. Each of them has a two-hour weekly class in which they work with the Basic technical principles of the instrument. Each level’s program for this year comprises exercises to improve the technique, as well as the interpretation of two musical pieces in different styles and the reading of a piece from the pentagram.

On the other hand, singing classes are destined to young people. They have a weekly meeting in which they work vocalization, intonation and song interpretation, among other things. These weekly meetings are supplemented by improvement clinics conducted by professional musicians that are invited to give a talk about specific instrument-related issues.

Taking into account the collective aspect of the workshops, the two levels coincide in two spaces of group training on Saturday: Musical Language and Ensemble. In the first one, they learn, among other things: pentagram reading and writing and audio perception, working on the distinction and comprehension of different categories of musical elements: rhythm, melody, harmony, etc. Besides, in ensemble classes, guitar and singing students carry out the articulation of what is learnt through the performance of songs from popular repertoire.

Students and their family must comply with only one requisite to be able to take part of this area: commitment. By encouraging responsibility and attendance, collaboration and participation in communal meetings it is sought to form musicians who, in addition to their creativity, can develop a truly leading role in the improvement of their community.
